Please telephone the surgery before 10.00 am if you feel you may need a home visit. These should only be requested for patients who are too ill to travel to the surgery and not for social and/or convenience reasons.
Please only ask for a home visit if it is really necessary. Home visits are time consuming and there are better facilities for examining and treating you in surgery.
When requesting a home visit please be prepared to give our staff full details of your symptoms. This will help the doctor assess the urgency of the visit. We will also need a contact telephone number, as you may be phoned prior to the visit by the doctor.
The surgery will decide which doctor will make the home visit and this will depend upon the number of visits and the locality they are in.
Requests for home visits made after 10.00 am should be for emergencies only.
