You said, so we did…

We really value all our patients comments and suggestions. We read, listen, review and act wherever possible.

Recently you said, so we did:

The phone messages are confusing and hard to hear

We re-recorded all the messages to make them clearer and made them as simple as possible.  We also made sure only short messages were added so you don’t have to listen to long messages (and waste mobile minutes) before your call is answered.

I’ve been on hold for a long periods of time

We identified a small glitch in the new telephone system that decreased the effectiveness of the queue system. In response we have kept ‘on hold’ phone messages to a minimum meaning the receptionists have a longer time to answer the call before it rejoins the queue. At certain times of the day we do receive high volumes of calls at the same time – please bare with us we will always answer your call.

There needs to be more appointments available for patients that work 9-5pm

In addition to our Monday evening extended hours, early morning GP appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30am. North Kirklees have also launched a new extended access scheme which offers appointments 7 days a week including evening and weekend appointments. Ask a member of reception for more information.

The pre-bookable slots you have are too far in the future, I want to book for next week

Changed our booking system so the majority of pre-bookable slots are now released on 7 or 14 day embargoes. This prevents them being booked up too far in advance.

I don’t know how to set up online services from home

The surgery has invested in a tablet so you can sign up for online services from our waiting room and get one to one support from our friendly team members.

The phone lines are too busy, i don’t have time to wait in a queue

We have made 100% of our routine GP appointments available for booking online. Just go online at 8am to see the available appointments.
